An employee of a custom fabrication company in Warren sustained life-threating injuries Friday after heavy machinery fell on him, the Warren Fire Department said in a news release.

The fire department described the incident as an "industrial accident," but did not provide more details about the incident at DPR Manufacturing, its cause or the man's injuries. The department said the man's estimated age is 20.

Other employees of DPR Manufacturing, located on Mound Road, got the man out from under the equipment before the fire department arrived, the news release said. The fire department responded at about 2 p.m.

DPR Manufacturing describes itself online as a family owned and operated custom fabrication organization providing products in steel, stainless steel, and aluminum. A company representative did not immediately respond to an email requesting comment.

After the accident, fire crews started an I.V. and performed CPR on the injured worker, according to the news release. An ambulance took him to Ascension Macomb Oakland Hospital. The fire department said it would not provide further details about the man's condition.
